The Little Pink House and The Golden Garden is a co-exhibition by local artists Claire Bear and Sarah Gee, sharing the artists’ connections to the Gold Coast through painting, printmaking, drawing and sculpture.
Claire Bear is a visual artist who makes soft sculptures, paintings, drawings, and original prints that reimagine places associated with comfort, belonging and safety. Claire’s exhibited works illuminate the fictitious nature of domestic spaces and allow viewers the opportunity to interact with the art objects.
Currently in residence at Helensvale Library, Sarah Gee is a nature inspired artist and illustrator who creates vibrant layered paintings, felted sculptures and lino prints inspired by flora and fauna. In this exhibition, Sarah invites viewers to celebrate the lush rainforest landscapes of Currumbin Valley, precious native insect species and to reflect on memories evoked by outdoor settings.
Viewers are invited to explore this vivid exhibition of interior and exterior spaces, as shaped by the artists through their shared connection to the Gold Coast and complimentary exploration of memory, identity and place.
