Built for Artists, Run by an Artist
More than an Art Gallery.
Studio 8 is a collaborative creative hub nestled in the vibrant, coastal heart of Currumbin on the Gold Coast.
This space is Artist led.
A brand new art space designed to inspire creativity, foster connection, and celebrate the arts.
This light-filled art gallery has been thoughtfully curated to serve as a platform for solo and group exhibitions, creative workshops, artist talks, and community driven art events.
The gallery/art space aims to be a gathering place where ideas are shared, and creativity thrives. There will be rotating artists sharing bodies of work in the forms of painting, photography, ceramics and more.
The Founder.
Kellie North is a photographic artist and the founder of Studio 8 Currumbin, an independent artist run art gallery and creative space on the Gold Coast.
As an artist Kellie creates thought-provoking imagery of the feminine form. Capturing anonymous figures draped in billowing fabric set against the ruggedness of the natural environment. Not one for treading the traditional photographic line, Kellie often likes to combine her traditional photographs with surreal elements, using carefully refined composite and digital art techniques.
Like many artists, Kellie began simply with the need for a space to create. What started as the search for a working studio soon began to evolve into something more meaningful. As the vision grew, it became clear that the space could serve not only as a personal studio, but as a place where other artists could gather, share ideas, and present their work.
From that idea, Studio 8 was born.
Kellie believes artists thrive when they're given space, encouragement, and the freedom to bring their ideas to life. Studio 8 is her answer to that, a place where creativity, collaboration, and artistic growth can flourish together.
As seen in.
Since opening, Studio 8 has caught the attention of Ocean Road Magazine and Byron Magazine, recognised for creating a space where artists can show their work in a professional, welcoming environment.
