RESIDENT ARTIST
Kylie Findlay
Artist Bio
In 2010 Kylie completed a Bachelor of Visual Art at Southern Cross University, majoring in Painting and currently works from her studio in Currumbin, Queensland. She has been a finalist in the Dean Cogle Portrait Prize on multiple occasions, won Third Place in the 2023 Doyles Landscape Award, was a finalist in the 2024 TNBT at The Toowoomba Gallery, and in October 2025 was Artist in Residence at Château d’Orquevaux in France, where a piece of her work now sits in the château’s permanent collection.
Kylie’s work is a continuous process of creation, review and re-evaluation. Working with acrylic paint and oils, she creates mostly abstract landscape and figurative works that evolve as she paints, seeking to arrive at a resolution she finds both aesthetically and energetically satisfying. Rather than depicting a single place or moment, her paintings are assembled through layers of colour, shape and mark-making, inviting viewers to wander through the work and form their own connections.
