Artist Bio
Kat Hamilton is a Pop Surreal artist based on the Gold Coast, working mainly in mixed media alongside watercolour, graphite, oils and inks. Since pursuing her creative practice full time in 2013, her work has shown in group exhibitions across Australia and the USA, including Hive Gallery in Los Angeles, and is held in private collections across Australia, Canada, Europe, the UK and the USA. She has been a finalist in the Lethbridge 20,000 and the MELT Portrait Prize, and has taught online art lessons since 2020.
Kat's paintings centre on beautiful, strong women, drawing on lowbrow and fantasy influences alongside her own life experiences and cultural background. Working intuitively across raw, emotive subject matter, she's drawn to storytelling and the way audiences connect with and interpret her work.
