This is the question Raymond Cheney poses in Precipice, a body of work that sits quietly with one of the most pressing questions of our time.
Visually calm on the surface, these highly detailed contemporary paintings carry an underlying tension. Ray doesn't tell you what to think. He invites you to look, and to consider what it means to witness without action.
Precipice ran at Studio 8 Currumbin in March 2025.
